Funding for Tāmaki Makaurau and Te Tai Tokerau

The Rule Foundation is excited to join with Foundation North to announce a new Fund, administered by the Rule Foundation for takatāpui and rainbow communities in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) and Te Tai Tokerau (Northland).

Since 2022, the Rule Foundation has partnered with Foundation North to help support takatāpui and rainbow communities via the Rainbow Wellbeing Legacy Fund.

In September 2024, Foundation North agreed to devolve funding to the Rule Foundation to ensure their funding reaches rainbow communities through the Rule Foundation’s unique position of being a funder specifically focused on the takatāpui and rainbow community.

As of 11 November 2024, all rainbow organisations and/or rainbow specific applications looking to apply for funding that are located in Tāmaki Makaurau or Te Tai Tokerau will apply for funding through the Rule Foundation via this new fund.

Those applicants who usually apply for a Foundation North Quick Response Grant (QRG) or a Community Grant (CG) up to $70,000 will now apply directly to the Rule Foundation, instead of to Foundation North.

Further details on this fund will be announced shortly. But, in the meantime, Foundation North has answers to some initial questions you might have over on their website.

Update 30 October 2024

Details about this fund are now up on our website. Head over here to check them out.
